circa 1800, the registration numbers for 'Dublin City', with browned twist-iron octagonal 8 1/2in. barrels, the top-flats signed 'ILSLEY LONDON' together with the respective number, bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights, acanthus scroll engraved standing breech and top-tang, platinum line at breech, flat, slightly curved bevel edged locks (traces of colour) and engraved with borderlines, floral accents and starbursts, rainproof pans, roller frizzens, sliding safes behind the cocks and clipped stepped tails, walnut full-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts, engraved trigger-guard bows, turned thimbles and captive iron ramrods, strong amount of finish remaining to both pistols
